Gulf Executives had a very specific direction that they wanted the design and build of their site to take. With this direction in mind, East drew on it's collective experience to put together a technical brief that led to the decision to create the site solely in Flash.
Although Gulf Executives deals in the field of recruitment, their area of expertise is in Headhunting - rather than approaching establishments with a collection of C.V's, the establishments approach them to find the right person to fill their requirements.
With this in mind, it was decided that the site was to be more of an "online presence"
to present the general public and the industry with information rather than to advertise specific job placements.
Being able to leave the, often restrictive, database handling scripts to the side gave East plenty of room to experiment and enjoy the animated aspects of both the site and Flash. |

> Bahrain currently has a maximum download speed of 2MB/sec and very restrictive download limits. This usually means that Flash-based websites are out of the question as they are often graphics intensive and therefore large in size. By using vector images, East was able to keep the whole site to under 100KB - meaning fast access to the site even on a dial-up connection.
> Computer monitors now come in all sizes and resolutions, by working with vector images, we programmed Flash to fill the screen with the site, no matter what size monitor the viewer was using, with no degradation of quality.
> Gulf Executives already had a
distinctive design style associated with their firm through previous print work that they already had in place. We were able to carry aspects of this through in to the site such as the silhouetted images of business people and the bright, primary colours. We then followed this through into HTML marketing e-mails and corporate CD-ROM presentations keeping all media consistent. |
